This striking, but not so attractive, rough arum is to 1 meter high and has leaves divided into several segments on a long steal. The leaf sheaths and leaf steal is white spotted and resembles the skin of a snake. A tall, chocolate purple sheath and butt are the flower, which gives a nasty smell.
It is believed that this plant is a medicine against various ailments of ears and eyes, cough and vomiting. It is said that it also prevent ulcers.
