About the Tour – You’ll have a chance to:

• Learn about the Neoria; buildings were the Venetians stored, constructed and repaired their ships. Each dome was destined for a galley.
• Get a look at the Koules fortress in the old port, and hear about it’s beacon-tower that was destroyed by the earthquake of 1508.
• Admire the Agios Titus church, an Orthodox church once again, after modifications carried out by the Church of Crete in 1925.
• Be inspired by the Romans, who build a 15-kilometre-long aqueduct ending in the Morisini fountain, bringing water from Mount Juktas to Heraklion.
• Listen how the schoolchildren of Heraklion unload a ship, forming a human chain to Agios Minas church and singing along to the hard work.

On this 3 to 4 hour tour, created to fill a whole day, you ‘ll get to know the centre of the capital of the island. Mr. Routaki will inform you at the right moment and on the right spot. But… you are still free to make your own choices.
